Professor and Researcher in Sri Lanka

Professor Kalinga Tudor Silva is a professor and researcher in Sri Lanka at the University of Peradeniya. With a background in sociology and public health, he previously researched social aspects of malaria and chronic kidney disease. Professor Kalinga Tudor Silva has been involved in understanding the effects of COVID-19 in Sri Lanka and studies issues of stigma, discrimination, and the role of religion in interventions and administration work. Additionally, he has analyzed the role of faith actors during the pandemic in Sri Lanka, and promoted public health education about vaccination. Professor Kalinga Tudor Silva looks forward to continuing research focused on the economic crisis in Sri Lanka that has occured as a result of the negative repercussions of the pandemic.
