Shiraz Belblidia

Shiraz Belblidia is a Master of Science candidate in the Biomedical Science Policy and Advocacy program within the Microbiology and Immunology department. Prior to her graduate studies, she majored in biochemistry at Barnard College, conducted clinical research as part of Michel Nussenzweig’s molecular immunology group at the Rockefeller University, and was part of the R&D group at an immuno-oncology biotech startup. She currently serves as founding president of Georgetown’s chapter of the Next Generation Global Health Security Network.

As a graduate research assistant with Dr. Erin Sorrell at the Center for Global Health Science and Security, she is conducting research into the current landscape of humanitarian health, with an emphasis on migrant health policy.
