Isabel Schaffer

Isabel is an Undergraduate Research Assistant at the Center for Global Health Science and
Security. She is a Sophomore in the College majoring in Art History and minoring in Chemistry
on the pre-medical track. Originally from Dallas, Texas, Isabel has a strong interest in pursuing a
career in public health and medicine.

During the summer of 2021, Isabel worked at Dallas County Health and Human Services as a
case investigator, managing data on the COVID-19 Reinfections and Logistics team. Currently,
she is working on the COVID-AMP team at the Center, analyzing government responses to
COVID-19 throughout Texas and understanding how policy impacts the spread of infectious
diseases through communities.
