Gabby Essix

Gabby Essix was a Global Health Initiative Research Fellow at the Center for Global Health Science and Security.  Her research interests include Neglected Tropical Diseases, Cooperative Threat Reduction, Pandemic Preparedness, and Infectious Disease Control.

Gabby graduated with honors from American University with a BS in Public Health and a minor in Biochemistry. As part of her BS, she studied abroad in Nairobi, Kenya at the University of Nairobi School of Public Health. While abroad she had the opportunity to complete a community health assessment for a village in Meru, Kenya. Gabby has also earned a Master’s degree from Georgetown University studying Biohazardous Threat Agents and Emerging Infectious Diseases.
