Georgetown Center for Global Health Science & Security 2025 Summer Law Clerk

The Center for Global Health Science & Security at Georgetown University Medical Center is seeking multiple summer 2025 law clerks interested in health law and/or administrative law to work with us. The position is open to current Georgetown University Law Center JD candidates.

Selected candidates will be conducting domestic legal research pertaining to health law across a number of disaster scenarios. Specifically, law clerks will be responsible for state and federal-level research about laws and regulations that govern health care as part of the broader disaster relief and emergency law apparatus (e.g. the Stafford Act and National Emergencies Act), as well as state-level provisions regarding health provider licensure, care requirements, and waiver provisions available under emergency conditions. Students will gain experience analyzing statutes, regulations, legislative history, and case law at both the federal and state levels.

This is a paid, full-time (up to 40 hours/week), hybrid (2-3 days in-person at the Medical-Dental Building on Georgetown Main Campus) position that will last ten weeks. Georgetown Law JD students hired for this position will be paid hourly at the rate of $19.50 per hour. IMPORTANT NOTE: The funding for this internship (paid hourly through payroll) is provided at least in part by OPICS summer funding. To be eligible for this position, Georgetown Law JD students must meet the eligibility requirements to receive OPICS summer funding (and not already be receiving OPICS summer funding for another position during the same summer).
